This oval oil painting is on aluminum (Dibond). This painting is a good example of my use of multiple figures and faces to create a more complex composition. The meaning behind most of my work is not overt. The narrative depth is quiet, personal, and meant to be left to the viewer to define. The saturated (pinks, purple and green) colors combined with the overlapping poses are a device used to abstract the figure and bring conflict to the scene without loosing the structure of the human form. This piece like so many of my paintings is a delicate dance between photo realism and abstraction, peppered with psychological undertones. I hope this piece is both beautiful and haunting at the same time.
